Seascale Parish Council Grass Cutting Tender – The Dell (2026–2029)

Seascale Parish Council invites tenders for grass cutting and maintenance works at The Dell for the period 1 April 2026 to 31 October 2029.

Scope of Works

The Dell is a grassed area with steep sides and a stream running through the centre.

Grass cutting is required monthly during the growing season (1 April to 31 October), subject to weather conditions.

This area may be included within a wider grass cutting contract or submitted as a separate tender due to the specialist nature of the site.

Tender Submission Details

Formal tender submissions must be submitted in writing to the Parish Clerk by:

Deadline: 8 March 2026 at 18:00

The successful contractor will be notified by mid-March 2026.

The contract will commence on 1 April 2026, with the first maintenance cycle to be completed within the first two weeks.

Terms and Conditions

• Contractors must hold public and professional liability insurance of at least £1,000,000 and provide evidence with their tender submission
• The contractor shall be responsible for any claims arising from negligence, unsafe work practices or failure to notify the council of risks
• The contractor must comply with all applicable health and safety legislation
• Work quality will be inspected by council representatives at the start and end of each season
• The contractor must provide and maintain all equipment required for the works in a safe and legal condition

Performance and Payment

If maintenance is not completed within seven days of the agreed four-week maintenance cycle, weather permitting, the council may consider this a breach of contract.

Invoices must be submitted monthly and include maintenance dates.
